Surah An-Noor (النور) translates to "The Light". It is a Medinan Surah located in Juz 18 containing 64 Ayahs. Read below with Arabic text, Roman English transliteration, Kanzul Iman Urdu, and Hindi.
Sooratun anzalnaahaa wa faradnaahaa wa anzalnaa feehaaa Aayaatim baiyinaatil la'allakum tazakkaroon
English
[This is] a surah which We have sent down and made [that within it] obligatory and revealed therein verses of clear evidence that you might remember.

یہ ایک سورة ہے کہ ہم نے اتاری اور ہم نے اس کے احکام فرض کیے اور ہم نے اس میں روشن آیتیں نازل فرمائیں کہ تم دھیان کرو،
Hindi
(ये) एक सूरा है जिसे हमने नाज़िल किया है और उस (के एहक़ाम) को फर्ज क़र दिया है और इसमें हमने वाज़ेए व रौशन आयतें नाज़िल की हैं ताकि तुम (ग़ौर करके) नसीहत हासिल करो
The [unmarried] woman or [unmarried] man found guilty of sexual intercourse - lash each one of them with a hundred lashes, and do not be taken by pity for them in the religion of Allah, if you should believe in Allah and the Last Day. And let a group of the believers witness their punishment.

جو عورت بدکار ہو اور جو مرد تو ان میں ہر ایک کو سو کوڑے لگاؤ اور تمہیں ان پر ترس نہ آئے اللہ کے دین میں اگر تم ایمان لاتے ہو اللہ اور پچھلے دن پر اور چاہیے کہ ان کی سزا کے وقت مسلمانوں کا ایک گروہ حاضر ہو

़ज़िना करने वाली औरत और ज़िना करने वाले मर्द इन दोनों में से हर एक को सौ (सौ) कोडे मारो और अगर तुम ख़ुदा और रोजे अाख़िरत पर ईमान रखते हो तो हुक्मे खुदा के नाफिज़ करने में तुमको उनके बारे में किसी तरह की तरस का लिहाज़ न होने पाए और उन दोनों की सज़ा के वक्त मोमिन की एक जमाअत को मौजूद रहना चाहिए
Azzaanee laa yankihu illaa zaaniyatan aw mushrikatanw wazzaaniyatu laa yankihuhaaa illaa zaanin aw mushrik; wa hurrima zaalika 'alal mu'mineen
English
The fornicator does not marry except a [female] fornicator or polytheist, and none marries her except a fornicator or a polytheist, and that has been made unlawful to the believers.

بدکار مرد نکاح نہ کرے مگر بدکار عورت یا شرک والی سے، اور بدکار عورت سے نکاح نہ کرے مگر بدکار مرد یا مشرک اور یہ کام ایمان والوں پر حرام ہے

ज़िना करने वाला मर्द तो ज़िना करने वाली औरत या मुशरिका से निकाह करेगा और ज़िना करने वाली औरत भी बस ज़िना करने वाले ही मर्द या मुशरिक से निकाह करेगी और सच्चे ईमानदारों पर तो इस क़िस्म के ताल्लुक़ात हराम हैं
Wallazeena yarmoonal muhsanaati summa lam yaatoo bi-arba'ati shuhadaaa'a fajlidoohum samaaneena jaldatanw wa laa taqbaloo lahum shahaadatan abadaa; wa ulaaa'ika humul faasiqoon
English
And those who accuse chaste women and then do not produce four witnesses - lash them with eighty lashes and do not accept from them testimony ever after. And those are the defiantly disobedient,

اور جو پارسا عورتوں کو عیب لگائیں پھر چار گواہ معائنہ کے نہ لائیں تو انہیں اسی کوڑے لگاؤ اور ان کی گواہی کبھی نہ مانو اور وہی فاسق ہیں،

और जो लोग पाक दामन औरतों पर (ज़िना की) तोहमत लगाएँ फिर (अपने दावे पर) चार गवाह पेश न करें तो उन्हें अस्सी कोड़ें मारो और फिर (आइन्दा) कभी उनकी गवाही कुबूल न करो और (याद रखो कि) ये लोग ख़ुद बदकार हैं
And those who accuse their wives [of adultery] and have no witnesses except themselves - then the witness of one of them [shall be] four testimonies [swearing] by Allah that indeed, he is of the truthful.

اور وہ جو اپنی عورتوں کو عیب لگائیں اور ان کے پاس اپنے بیان کے سوا گواہ نہ ہوں تو ایسے کسی کی گواہی یہ ہے کہ چار بار گواہی دے اللہ کے نام سے کہ وہ سچا ہے

और जो लोग अपनी बीवियों पर (ज़िना) का ऐब लगाएँ और (इसके सुबूत में) अपने सिवा उनका कोई गवाह न हो तो ऐसे लोगों में से एक की गवाही चार मरतबा इस तरह होगी कि वह (हर मरतबा) ख़ुदा की क़सम खाकर बयान करे कि वह (अपने दावे में) जरुर सच्चा है
Wa law laa fadlul laahi 'alaikum wa rahmatuhoo wa annal laaha Tawwaabun Hakeem
English
And if not for the favor of Allah upon you and His mercy... and because Allah is Accepting of repentance and Wise.

اور اگر اللہ کا فضل اور اس کی رحمت تم پر نہ ہوتی اور یہ کہ اللہ توبہ قبول فرماتا حکمت والا ہے،

और अगर तुम पर ख़ुदा का फज़ल (व करम) और उसकी मेहरबानी न होती तो देखते कि तोहमत लगाने वालों का क्या हाल होता और इसमें शक ही नहीं कि ख़ुदा बड़ा तौबा क़ुबूल करने वाला हकीम है
Indeed, those who came with falsehood are a group among you. Do not think it bad for you; rather it is good for you. For every person among them is what [punishment] he has earned from the sin, and he who took upon himself the greater portion thereof - for him is a great punishment.

تو تمہارا پردہ کھول دیتا بیشک وہ کہ یہ بڑا بہتان لائے ہیں تمہیں میں کی ایک جماعت ہے اسے اپنے لیے برا نہ سمجھو، بلکہ وہ تمہارے لیے بہتر ہے ان میں ہر شخص کے لیے وہ گناہ ہے جو اس نے کمایا اور ان میں وہ جس نے سب سے بڑا حصہ لیا اس کے لیے بڑا عذاب ہے

बेशक जिन लोगों ने झूठी तोहमत लगायी वह तुम्ही में से एक गिरोह है तुम अपने हक़ में इस तोहमत को बड़ा न समझो बल्कि ये तुम्हारे हक़ में बेहतर है इनमें से जिस शख्स ने जितना गुनाह समेटा वह उस (की सज़ा) को खुद भुगतेगा और उनमें से जिस शख्स ने तोहमत का बड़ा हिस्सा लिया उसके लिए बड़ी (सख्त) सज़ा होगी
Law laaa iz sami'tumoohu zannal mu'minoona walmu'minaatu bi anfusihim khairanw wa qaaloo haazaaa ifkum mmubeen
English
Why, when you heard it, did not the believing men and believing women think good of one another and say, "This is an obvious falsehood"?

کیوں نہ ہوا ہوا جب تم نے اسے سنا تھا کہ مسلمان مردوں اور مسلمان عورتوں نے اپنوں پر نیک گمان کیا ہوتا اور کہتے یہ کھلا بہتان ہے

और जब तुम लोगो ने उसको सुना था तो उसी वक्त ईमानदार मर्दों और ईमानदार औरतों ने अपने लोगों पर भलाई का गुमान क्यो न किया और ये क्यों न बोल उठे कि ये तो खुला हुआ बोहतान है
Law laa jaaa'oo 'alaihi bi-arba'ati shuhadaaa'; fa iz lam yaatoo bishshuhadaaa'i fa ulaaa 'ika 'indal laahi humul kaaziboon
English
Why did they [who slandered] not produce for it four witnesses? And when they do not produce the witnesses, then it is they, in the sight of Allah, who are the liars.

اس پر چار گواہ کیوں نہ لائے، تو جب گواہ نہ لائے تو وہی اللہ کے نزدیک جھوٹے ہیں،

और जिन लोगों ने तोहमत लगायी थी अपने दावे के सुबूत में चार गवाह क्यों न पेश किए फिर जब इन लोगों ने गवाह न पेश किये तो ख़ुदा के नज़दीक यही लोग झूठे हैं
Wa law laa fadlul laahi 'alaikum wa rahmatuhoo fiddunyaa wal aakhirati lamassakum fee maaa afadtum feehi 'azaabun 'azeem
English
And if it had not been for the favor of Allah upon you and His mercy in this world and the Hereafter, you would have been touched for that [lie] in which you were involved by a great punishment

اور اگر اللہ کا فضل اور اس کی رحمت تم پر دنیا اور آخرت میں نہ ہو تی تو جس چرچے میں تم پڑے اس پر تمہیں بڑا عذاب پہنچتا،

और अगर तुम लोगों पर दुनिया और आख़िरत में ख़ुदा का फज़ल (व करम) और उसकी रहमत न होती तो जिस बात का तुम लोगों ने चर्चा किया था उस की वजह से तुम पर कोई बड़ा (सख्त) अज़ाब आ पहुँचता
iz talaqqawnahoo bi alsinatikum wa taqooloona bi afwaahikum maa laisa lakum bihee 'ilmunw wa tahsaboo nahoo haiyinanw wa huwa 'indl laahi 'azeem
English
When you received it with your tongues and said with your mouths that of which you had no knowledge and thought it was insignificant while it was, in the sight of Allah, tremendous.

جب تم ایسی بات اپنی زبانوں پر ایک دوسرے سے سن کر لاتے تھے اور اپنے منہ سے وہ نکالتے تھے جس کا تمہیں علم نہیں اور اسے سہل سمجھتے تھے اور وہ اللہ کے نزدیک بڑی بات ہے

कि तुम अपनी ज़बानों से इसको एक दूसरे से बयान करने लगे और अपने मुँह से ऐसी बात कहते थे जिसका तुम्हें इल्म व यक़ीन न था (और लुत्फ ये है कि) तुमने इसको एक आसान बात समझी थी हॉलाकि वह ख़ुदा के नज़दीक बड़ी सख्त बात थी
Indeed, those who like that immorality should be spread [or publicized] among those who have believed will have a painful punishment in this world and the Hereafter. And Allah knows and you do not know.

وہ لوگ جو چاہتے ہیں کہ مسلمانوں میں برا چرچا پھیلے ان کے لیے دردناک عذاب ہے دنیا اور آخرت میں اور اللہ جانتا ہے اور تم نہیں جانتے،

जो लोग ये चाहते हैं कि ईमानदारों में बदकारी का चर्चा फैल जाए बेशक उनके लिए दुनिया और आख़िरत में दर्दनाक अज़ाब है और ख़ुदा (असल हाल को) ख़ूब जानता है और तुम लोग नहीं जानते हो
Yaaa aiyuhal lazeena aamanoo laa tattabi'oo khutuwaatish Shaitaan; wa many-yattabi' khutuwaatish Shaitaani fa innahoo yaamuru bilfahshaaa'i walmunkar; wa law laa fadlul laahi 'alaikum wa rahmatuhoo maa zakaa minkum min ahadin abadanw wa laakinnal laaha yuzakkee many-yashaaa'; wallaahu Samee'un 'Aleem
English
O you who have believed, do not follow the footsteps of Satan. And whoever follows the footsteps of Satan - indeed, he enjoins immorality and wrongdoing. And if not for the favor of Allah upon you and His mercy, not one of you would have been pure, ever, but Allah purifies whom He wills, and Allah is Hearing and Knowing.

تو تم اس کا مزہ چکھتے اے ایمان والو! شیطان کے قدموں پر نہ چلو، اور جو شیطان کے قدموں پر چلے تو وہ تو بے حیائی اور بری ہی بات بتائے گا اور اگر اللہ کا فضل اور اس کی رحمت تم پر نہ ہوتی تو تم میں کوئی بھی کبھی ستھرا نہ ہوسکتا ہاں اللہ ستھرا کردیتا ہے جسے چاہے اور اللہ سنتا جانتا ہے،

(तो तुम देखते क्या होता) ऐ ईमानदारों शैतान के क़दम ब क़दम न चलो और जो शख्स शैतान के क़दम ब क़दम चलेगा तो वह यक़ीनन उसे बदकारी और बुरी बात (करने) का हुक्म देगा और अगर तुम पर ख़ुदा का फ़ज़ल (व करम) और उसकी रहमत न होती तो तुममें से कोई भी कभी पाक साफ न होता मगर ख़ुदा तो जिसे चहता है पाक साफ कर देता है और ख़ुदा बड़ा सुनने वाला वाकिफकार है
Wa laa yaatali ulul fadli minkum wassa'ati ai yu'tooo ulil qurbaa walmasaakeena walmuhaajireena fee sabeelillaahi walya'foo walyasfahoo; alaa tuhibboona ai yaghfiral laahu lakum; wal laahu Ghafoorur Raheem
English
And let not those of virtue among you and wealth swear not to give [aid] to their relatives and the needy and the emigrants for the cause of Allah, and let them pardon and overlook. Would you not like that Allah should forgive you? And Allah is Forgiving and Merciful.

اور قسم نہ کھائیں وہ جو تم میں فضیلت والے اور گنجائش والے ہیں قرابت والوں اور مسکینوں اور اللہ کی راہ میں ہجرت کرنے والوں کو دینے کی، اور چاہیے کہ معاف کریں اور درگزریں، کیا تم اسے دوست نہیں رکھتے کہ اللہ تمہاری بخشش کرے، اور اللہ بخشنے والا مہربان ہے

और तुममें से जो लोग ज्यादा दौलत और मुक़द्दर वालें है क़राबतदारों और मोहताजों और ख़ुदा की राह में हिजरत करने वालों को कुछ देने (लेने) से क़सम न खा बैठें बल्कि उन्हें चाहिए कि (उनकी ख़ता) माफ कर दें और दरगुज़र करें क्या तुम ये नहीं चाहते हो कि ख़ुदा तुम्हारी ख़ता माफ करे और खुदा तो बड़ा बख्शने वाला मेहरबान है
Indeed, those who [falsely] accuse chaste, unaware and believing women are cursed in this world and the Hereafter; and they will have a great punishment

بیشک وہ جو عیب لگاتے ہیں انجان پارسا ایمان والیوں کو ان پر لعنت ہے دنیا اور آخرت میں اور ان کے لیے بڑا عذاب ہے

बेशक जो लोग पाक दामन बेख़बर और ईमानदार औरतों पर (ज़िना की) तोहमत लगाते हैं उन पर दुनिया और आख़िरत में (ख़ुदा की) लानत है और उन पर बड़ा (सख्त) अज़ाब होगा
Evil words are for evil men, and evil men are [subjected] to evil words. And good words are for good men, and good men are [an object] of good words. Those [good people] are declared innocent of what the slanderers say. For them is forgiveness and noble provision.

گندیاں گندوں کے لیے اور گندے گندیوں کے لیے اور ستھریاں ستھروں کے لیے اور ستھرے ستھریوں کے لیے وہ پاک ہیں ان باتوں سے جو یہ کہہ رہے ہیں، ان کے لیے بخشش اور عزت کی روزی ہے

Yaaa aiyuhal lazeena aamanoo laa tadkhuloo buyootan ghaira buyootikum hatta tastaanisoo wa tusallimoo 'allaa ahlihaa; zaalikum khairul lakum la'allakum tazakkaroon
English
O you who have believed, do not enter houses other than your own houses until you ascertain welcome and greet their inhabitants. That is best for you; perhaps you will be reminded.

اے ایمان والو! اپنے گھروں کے سوا اور گھروں میں نہ جاؤ جب تک اجازت نہ لے لو اور ان کے ساکنوں پر سلام نہ کرلو یہ تمہارے لیے بہتر ہے کہ تم دھیان کرو،
Hindi
और इज्ज़त की रोज़ी ऐ ईमानदारों अपने घरों के सिवा दूसरे घरों में (दर्राना) न चले जाओ यहाँ तक कि उनसे इजाज़त ले लो और उन घरों के रहने वालों से साहब सलामत कर लो यही तुम्हारे हक़ में बेहतर है
Fa il lam tajidoo feehaaa ahadan falaa tadkhuloohaa hattaa yu'zana lakum wa in qeela lakumurji'oo farji'oo huwa azkaa lakum; wallaahu bimaa ta'maloona 'Aleem
English
And if you do not find anyone therein, do not enter them until permission has been given you. And if it is said to you, "Go back," then go back; it is purer for you. And Allah is Knowing of what you do.

پھر اگر ان میں کسی کو نہ پاؤ جب بھی بے ما لکوں کی اجازت کے ان میں نہ جاؤ اور اگر تم سے کہا جائے واپس جاؤ تو واپس ہو یہ تمہارے لیے بہت ستھرا ہے، اللہ تمہارے کاموں کو جانتا ہے،

(ये नसीहत इसलिए है) ताकि तुम याद रखो पस अगर तुम उन घरों में किसी को न पाओ तो तावाक़फियत कि तुम को (ख़ास तौर पर) इजाज़त न हासिल हो जाए उन में न जाओ और अगर तुम से कहा जाए कि फिर जाओ तो तुम (बे ताम्मुल) फिर जाओ यही तुम्हारे वास्ते ज्यादा सफाई की बात है और तुम जो कुछ भी करते हो ख़ुदा उससे खूब वाकिफ़ है
Laisa 'alaikum junaahun ann tadkhuloo buyootan ghaira maskoonatin feeha mataa'ul lakum; wallaahu ya'lamu maa tubdoona wa maa taktumoon
English
There is no blame upon you for entering houses not inhabited in which there is convenience for you. And Allah knows what you reveal and what you conceal.

اس میں تم پر کچھ گناہ نہیں کہ ان گھروں میں جاؤ جو خاص کسی کی سکونت کے نہیں اور ان کے برتنے کا تمہیں اختیار ہے، اور اللہ جانتا ہے جوتم ظاہر کرتے ہو، اور جو تم چھپاتے ہو،

इसमें अलबत्ता तुम पर इल्ज़ाम नहीं कि ग़ैर आबाद मकानात में जिसमें तुम्हारा कोई असबाब हो (बे इजाज़त) चले जाओ और जो कुछ खुल्लम खुल्ला करते हो और जो कुछ छिपाकर करते हो खुदा (सब कुछ) जानता है
Qul lilmu' mineena yaghuuddoo min absaarihim wa yahfazoo furoojahum; zaalika azkaa lahum; innallaaha khabeerum bimaa yasna'oon
English
Tell the believing men to reduce [some] of their vision and guard their private parts. That is purer for them. Indeed, Allah is Acquainted with what they do.

مسلمان مردوں کو حکم دو اپنی نگاہیں کچھ نیچی رکھیں اور اپنی شرمگاہوں کی حفاظت کریں یہ ان کے لیے بہت ستھرا ہے، بیشک اللہ کو ان کے کاموں کی خبر ہے،

(ऐ रसूल) ईमानदारों से कह दो कि अपनी नज़रों को नीची रखें और अपनी शर्मगाहों की हिफाज़त करें यही उनके वास्ते ज्यादा सफाई की बात है ये लोग जो कुछ करते हैं ख़ुदा उससे यक़ीनन ख़ूब वाक़िफ है
Wa qul lilmu'minaati yaghdudna min absaarihinna wa yahfazna furoojahunna wa laa yubdeena zeenatahunna illaa maa zahara minhaa walyadribna bikhumurihinna 'alaa juyoobihinna wa laa yubdeena zeenatahunna illaa libu'oolatihinna aw aabaaa'i hinna aw aabaaa'i bu'oolati hinna aw abnaaa'ihinaa aw abnaaa'i bu'oolatihinnna aw ikhwaanihinnna aw baneee ikhwaanihinna aw banee akhawaatihinna aw nisaaa'i hinna aw maa malakat aimaanuhunna awit taabi'eena ghairi ilil irbati minar rijaali awit tiflillazeena lam yazharoo 'alaa 'awraatin nisaaa'i wala yadribnna bi arjulihinna min zeenatihinn; wa toobooo ilallaahi jammee'an aiyuhal mu'minoona la'allakum tuflihoon
English
And tell the believing women to reduce [some] of their vision and guard their private parts and not expose their adornment except that which [necessarily] appears thereof and to wrap [a portion of] their headcovers over their chests and not expose their adornment except to their husbands, their fathers, their husbands' fathers, their sons, their husbands' sons, their brothers, their brothers' sons, their sisters' sons, their women, that which their right hands possess, or those male attendants having no physical desire, or children who are not yet aware of the private aspects of women. And let them not stamp their feet to make known what they conceal of their adornment. And turn to Allah in repentance, all of you, O believers, that you might succeed.

اور مسلمان عورتوں کو حکم دو اپنی نگاہیں کچھ نیچی رکھیں اور اپنی پارسائی کی حفاظت کریں اور اپنا بناؤ نہ دکھائیں مگر جتنا خود ہی ظاہر ہے اور وہ دوپٹے اپنے گریبانوں پر ڈالے رہیں، اور اپنا سنگھار ظاہر نہ کریں مگر اپنے شوہروں پر یا اپنے باپ یا شوہروں کے باپ یا اپنے بیٹوں یا شوہروں کے بیٹے یا اپنے بھائی یا اپنے بھتیجے یا اپنے بھانجے یا اپنے دین کی عورتیں یا اپنی کنیزیں جو اپنے ہاتھ کی ملک ہوں یا نوکر بشرطیکہ شہوت والے مرد نہ ہوں یا وہ بچے جنہیں عورتوں کی شرم کی چیزوں کی خبر نہیں اور زمین پر پاؤں زور سے نہ رکھیں کہ جانا جائے ان کا چھپا ہوا سنگھار اور اللہ کی طرف توبہ کرو اے مسلمانو! سب کے سب اس امید پر کہ تم فلاح پاؤ،

और (ऐ रसूल) ईमानदार औरतों से भी कह दो कि वह भी अपनी नज़रें नीची रखें और अपनी शर्मगाहों की हिफाज़त करें और अपने बनाव सिंगार (के मक़ामात) को (किसी पर) ज़ाहिर न होने दें मगर जो खुद ब खुद ज़ाहिर हो जाता हो (छुप न सकता हो) (उसका गुनाह नही) और अपनी ओढ़नियों को (घूँघट मारके) अपने गरेबानों (सीनों) पर डाले रहें और अपने शौहर या अपने बाप दादाओं या आपने शौहर के बाप दादाओं या अपने बेटों या अपने शौहर के बेटों या अपने भाइयों या अपने भतीजों या अपने भांजों या अपने (क़िस्म की) औरतों या अपनी या अपनी लौंडियों या (घर के) नौकर चाकर जो मर्द सूरत हैं मगर (बहुत बूढे होने की वजह से) औरतों से कुछ मतलब नहीं रखते या वह कमसिन लड़के जो औरतों के पर्दे की बात से आगाह नहीं हैं उनके सिवा (किसी पर) अपना बनाव सिंगार ज़ाहिर न होने दिया करें और चलने में अपने पाँव ज़मीन पर इस तरह न रखें कि लोगों को उनके पोशीदा बनाव सिंगार (झंकार वग़ैरह) की ख़बर हो जाए और ऐ ईमानदारों तुम सबके सब ख़ुदा की बारगाह में तौबा करो ताकि तुम फलाह पाओ
Wa ankihul ayaamaa minkum was saaliheena min 'ibaadikum wa imaa'kum; iny-yakoonoo fuqaraaa'a yughni himul laahu min fadlih; wal laahu Waasi'un 'Aleem
English
And marry the unmarried among you and the righteous among your male slaves and female slaves. If they should be poor, Allah will enrich them from His bounty, and Allah is all-Encompassing and Knowing.

اور نکاح کردو اپنوں میں ان کا جو بے نکاح ہوں اور اپنے لائق بندوں اور کنیزوں کا اگر وہ فقیر ہوں تو اللہ انہیں غنی کردے گا اپنے فضل کے سبب اور اللہ وسعت والا علم والا ہے،

और अपनी (क़ौम की) बेशौहर औरतों और अपने नेक बख्त गुलामों और लौंडियों का निकाह कर दिया करो अगर ये लोग मोहताज होंगे तो खुदा अपने फज़ल व (करम) से उन्हें मालदार बना देगा और ख़ुदा तो बड़ी गुन्जाइश वाला वाक़िफ कार है
Wal yasta'fifil lazeena laa yajidoona nikaahan hata yughniyahumul laahu mi fadlih; wallazeena yabtaghoonal kitaaba mimmaa malakat aimaanukum fakaatiboohum in 'alimtum feehim khairanw wa aatoohum mimmaalil laahil lazeee aataakum; wa laa tukrihoo fatayaatikum 'alal bighaaa'i in aradna tahassunal litabtaghoo 'aradal hayaatid dunyaa; wa mai yukrihhunna fa innal laaha mim ba'di ikraahihinna Ghafoor Raheem
English
But let them who find not [the means for] marriage abstain [from sexual relations] until Allah enriches them from His bounty. And those who seek a contract [for eventual emancipation] from among whom your right hands possess - then make a contract with them if you know there is within them goodness and give them from the wealth of Allah which He has given you. And do not compel your slave girls to prostitution, if they desire chastity, to seek [thereby] the temporary interests of worldly life. And if someone should compel them, then indeed, Allah is [to them], after their compulsion, Forgiving and Merciful.

اور چاہیے کہ بچے رہیں وہ جو نکاح کا مقدور نہیں رکھتے یہاں تک کہ اللہ مقدور والا کردے اپنے فضل سے اور تمہارے ہاتھ کی مِلک باندی غلاموں میں سے جو یہ چاہیں کہ کچھ مال کمانے کی شرط پر انہیں آزادی لکھ دو تو لکھ دو اگر ان میں کچھ بھلائی جانو اور اس پر ان کی مدد کرو اللہ کے مال سے جو تم کو دیا اور مجبور نہ کرو اپنی کنیزوں کو بدکاری پر جب کہ وہ بچنا چاہیں تاکہ تم دنیوی زندگی کا کچھ مال چاہو اور جو انہیں مجبور کرے گا تو بیشک اللہ بعد اس کے کہ وہ مجبوری ہی کی حالت پر رہیں بخشنے والا مہربان ہے

और जो लोग निकाह करने का मक़दूर नहीं रखते उनको चाहिए कि पाक दामिनी एख्तियार करें यहाँ तक कि ख़ुदा उनको अपने फज़ल व (करम) से मालदार बना दे और तुम्हारी लौन्डी ग़ुलामों में से जो मकातबत होने (कुछ रुपए की शर्त पर आज़ादी का सरख़त लेने) की ख्वाहिश करें तो तुम अगर उनमें कुछ सलाहियत देखो तो उनको मकातिब कर दो और ख़ुदा के माल से जो उसने तुम्हें अता किया है उनका भी दो और तुम्हारी लौन्डियाँ जो पाक दामन ही रहना चाहती हैं उनको दुनियावी ज़िन्दगी के फायदे हासिल करने की ग़रज़ से हराम कारी पर मजबूर न करो और जो शख्स उनको मजबूर करेगा तो इसमें शक नहीं कि ख़ुदा उसकी बेबसी के बाद बड़ा बख्शने वाले मेहरबान है
Wa laqad anzalnaaa ilaikum Aayaatim mubaiyinaatinw wa masalam minnal lazeena khalaw min qablikum wa maw'izatal lilmuttaqeen
English
And We have certainly sent down to you distinct verses and examples from those who passed on before you and an admonition for those who fear Allah.

اور بیشک ہم نے اتاریں تمہاری طرف روشن آیتیں اور کچھ ان لوگوں کا بیان جو تم سے پہلے ہو گزرے اور ڈر والوں کے لیے نصیحت،

और (ईमानदारों) हमने तो तुम्हारे पास (अपनी) वाज़ेए व रौशन आयतें और जो लोग तुमसे पहले गुज़र चुके हैं उनकी हालतें और परहेज़गारों के लिए नसीहत (की बाते) नाज़िल की
Allaahu noorus samaawaati wal ard; masalu noorihee kamishkaatin feehaa misbaah; almisbaahu fee zujaajatin azzujaajatu ka annahaa kawkabun durriyyuny yooqadu min shajaratim mubaarakatin zaitoonatil laa shariqiyyatinw wa laa gharbiyyatiny yakaadu zaituhaa yudeee'u wa law alm tamsashu naar; noorun 'alaa noor; yahdil laahu linoorihee mai yashaaa'; wa yadribul laahul amsaala linnaas; wallaahu bikulli shai'in Aleem
English
Allah is the Light of the heavens and the earth. The example of His light is like a niche within which is a lamp, the lamp is within glass, the glass as if it were a pearly [white] star lit from [the oil of] a blessed olive tree, neither of the east nor of the west, whose oil would almost glow even if untouched by fire. Light upon light. Allah guides to His light whom He wills. And Allah presents examples for the people, and Allah is Knowing of all things.

اللہ نور ہے آسمانوں اور زمینوں کا، اس کے نور کی مثال ایسی جیسے ایک طاق کہ اس میں چراغ ہے وہ چراغ ایک فانوس میں ہے وہ فانوس گویا ایک ستارہ ہے موتی سا چمکتا روشن ہوتا ہے برکت والے پیڑ زیتون سے جو نہ پورب کا نہ پچھم کا قریب ہے کہ اس کا تیل بھڑک اٹھے اگرچہ اسے آگ نہ چھوئے نور پر نور ہے اللہ اپنے نور کی راہ بتاتا ہے جسے چاہتا ہے، اور اللہ مثالیں بیان فرماتا ہے لوگوں کے لیے، اور اللہ سب کچھ جانتا ہے،

ख़ुदा तो सारे आसमान और ज़मीन का नूर है उसके नूर की मिसल (ऐसी) है जैसे एक ताक़ (सीना) है जिसमे एक रौशन चिराग़ (इल्मे शरीयत) हो और चिराग़ एक शीशे की क़न्दील (दिल) में हो (और) क़न्दील (अपनी तड़प में) गोया एक जगमगाता हुआ रौशन सितारा (वह चिराग़) जैतून के मुबारक दरख्त (के तेल) से रौशन किया जाए जो न पूरब की तरफ हो और न पश्चिम की तरफ (बल्कि बीचों बीच मैदान में) उसका तेल (ऐसा) शफ्फाफ हो कि अगरचे आग उसे छुए भी नही ताहम ऐसा मालूम हो कि आप ही आप रौशन हो जाएगा (ग़रज़ एक नूर नहीं बल्कि) नूर आला नूर (नूर की नूर पर जोत पड़ रही है) ख़ुदा अपने नूर की तरफ जिसे चाहता है हिदायत करता है और ख़ुदा तो हर चीज़ से खूब वाक़िफ है
Fee buyootin azinal laahu an turfa'a wa yuzkara feehasmuhoo yusabbihu lahoo feehaa bilghuduwwi wal aasaal
English
[Such niches are] in mosques which Allah has ordered to be raised and that His name be mentioned therein; exalting Him within them in the morning and the evenings

ان گھروں میں جنہیں بلند کرنے کا اللہ نے حکم دیا ہے اور ان میں اس کا نام لیا جاتا ہے، اللہ کی تسبیح کرتے ہیں ان میں صبح اور شام

(वह क़न्दील) उन घरों में रौशन है जिनकी निस्बत ख़ुदा ने हुक्म दिया कि उनकी ताज़ीम की जाए और उनमें उसका नाम लिया जाए जिनमें सुबह व शाम वह लोग उसकी तस्बीह किया करते हैं
Rinjaalul laa tulheehim tijaaratunw wa laa bai'un 'an zikril laahi wa iqaamis Salaati wa eetaaa'iz Zakaati yakkhaafoona Yawman tataqallabu feehil quloobu wal absaar
English
[Are] men whom neither commerce nor sale distracts from the remembrance of Allah and performance of prayer and giving of zakah. They fear a Day in which the hearts and eyes will [fearfully] turn about -

وہ مرد جنہیں غافل نہیں کرتا کوئی سودا اور نہ خرید و فروخت اللہ کی یاد اور نماز برپا رکھنے اور زکوٰة دینے سے ڈرتے ہیں اس دن سے جس میں الٹ جائیں گے دل اور آنکھیں

ऐसे लोग जिनको ख़ुदा के ज़िक्र और नमाज़ पढ़ने और ज़कात अदा करने से न तो तिजारत ही ग़ाफिल कर सकती है न (ख़रीद फरोख्त) (का मामला क्योंकि) वह लोग उस दिन से डरते हैं जिसमें ख़ौफ के मारे दिल और ऑंखें उलट जाएँगी
Liyajziyahumul laahu ahsana maa 'amiloo wa yazeedahum min fadlih; wal laahu yarzuqu mai yashaaa'u bighairi hisaab
English
That Allah may reward them [according to] the best of what they did and increase them from His bounty. And Allah gives provision to whom He wills without account.

تاکہ اللہ انہیں بدلہ دے ان کے سب سے بہتر کام کام اور اپنے فضل سے انہیں انعام زیادہ دے، اور اللہ روزی دیتا ہے جسے چاہے بے گنتی،

(उसकी इबादत इसलिए करते हैं) ताकि ख़ुदा उन्हें उनके आमाल का बेहतर से बेहतर बदला अता फरमाए और अपने फज़ल व करम से कुछ और ज्यादा भी दे और ख़ुदा तो जिसे चाहता है बेहिसाब रोज़ी देता है
Wallazeena kafarooo a'maaluhum kasaraabim biqee'atiny yahsabuhuz zamaanu maaa'an hattaaa izaa jaaa'ahoo lam yajid hu shai'anw wa wajadal laaha 'indahoo fa waffaahu hisaabah; wallaahu saree'ul hisaab
English
But those who disbelieved - their deeds are like a mirage in a lowland which a thirsty one thinks is water until, when he comes to it, he finds it is nothing but finds Allah before Him, and He will pay him in full his due; and Allah is swift in account.

اور جو کافر ہوئے ان کے کام ایسے ہیں جیسے دھوپ میں چمکتا ریتا کسی جنگل میں کہ پیاسا اسے پانی سمجھے، یہاں تک جب اس کے پاس آیا تو اسے کچھ نہ پایا اور اللہ کو اپنے قریب پایا تو اس نے اس کا حساب پورا بھردیا، اور اللہ جلد حساب کرلیتا ہے

और जिन लोगों ने कुफ्र एख्तेयार किया उनकी कारस्तानियाँ (ऐसी है) जैसे एक चटियल मैदान का चमकता हुआ बालू कि प्यासा उस को दूर से देखे तो पानी ख्याल करता है यहाँ तक कि जब उसके पास आया तो उसको कुछ भी न पाया (और प्यास से तड़प कर मर गया) और ख़ुदा को अपने पास मौजूद पाया तो उसने उसका हिसाब (किताब) पूरा पूरा चुका दिया और ख़ुदा तो बहुत जल्द हिसाब लेने वाला है
Aw kazulumaatin fee bahril lujjiyyiny yaghshaahu mawjum min fawqihee mawjum min fawqihee mawjum min fawqihee sahaab; zulumatum ba'duhaa fawqa ba'din izaaa akhraja yadahoo lam yakad yaraahaa wa mal lam yaj'alil laahu lahoo noora famaa lahoo min noor
English
Or [they are] like darknesses within an unfathomable sea which is covered by waves, upon which are waves, over which are clouds - darknesses, some of them upon others. When one puts out his hand [therein], he can hardly see it. And he to whom Allah has not granted light - for him there is no light.

یا جیسے اندھیریاں کسی کنڈے کے (گہرائی والے) دریا میں اس کے اوپر موج مو ج کے اوپر اور موج اس کے اوپر بادل، اندھیرے ہیں ایک پر ایک جب اپنا ہاتھ نکالے تو سوجھائی دیتا معلوم نہ ہو اور جسے اللہ نور نہ دے اس کے لیے کہیں نور نہیں

(या काफिरों के आमाल की मिसाल) उस बड़े गहरे दरिया की तारिकियों की सी है- जैसे एक लहर उसके ऊपर दूसरी लहर उसके ऊपर अब्र (तह ब तह) ढॉके हुए हो (ग़रज़) तारिकियाँ है कि एक से ऊपर एक (उमड़ी) चली आती हैं (इसी तरह से) कि अगर कोइ शख्स अपना हाथ निकाले तो (शिद्दत तारीकी से) उसे देख न सके और जिसे खुद ख़ुदा ही ने (हिदायत की) रौशनी न दी हो तो (समझ लो कि) उसके लिए कहीं कोई रौशनी नहीं है
Alam tara annal laaha yusabbihu lahoo man fissamaawaati wal ardi wat tairu saaaffaatim kullun qad 'alima Salaatahoo wa tasbeehah; wallaahu 'aleemum bimaa yaf'aloon
English
Do you not see that Allah is exalted by whomever is within the heavens and the earth and [by] the birds with wings spread [in flight]? Each [of them] has known his [means of] prayer and exalting [Him], and Allah is Knowing of what they do.

کیا تم نے نہ دیکھا کہ اللہ کی تسبیح کرتے ہیں جو کوئی آسمانوں اور زمین میں ہیں اور پرندے پر پھیلائے سب نے جان رکھی ہے اپنی نماز اور اپنی تسبیح، اور اللہ ان کے کاموں کو جانتا ہے،

(ऐ शख्स) क्या तूने इतना भी नहीं देखा कि जितनी मख़लूक़ात सारे आसमान और ज़मीन में हैं और परिन्दें पर फैलाए (ग़रज़ सब) उसी को तस्बीह किया करते हैं सब के सब अपनी नमाज़ और अपनी तस्बीह का तरीक़ा खूब जानते हैं और जो कुछ ये किया करते हैं ख़ुदा उससे खूब वाक़िफ है
Alam tara annal laaha yuzjee sahaaban summa yu'allifu bainahoo summa yaj'aluhoo rukaaman fataral wadqa yakhruju min khilaalihee wa yunazzilu minas samaaa'i min jibaalin feehaa mim barain fa yuseebu bihee mai yashaaa'u wa yasrifuhoo 'am mai yashaaa'u yakkaadu sanaa barqihee yazhabu bil absaar
English
Do you not see that Allah drives clouds? Then He brings them together, then He makes them into a mass, and you see the rain emerge from within it. And He sends down from the sky, mountains [of clouds] within which is hail, and He strikes with it whom He wills and averts it from whom He wills. The flash of its lightening almost takes away the eyesight.

کیا تو نے نہ دیکھا کہ اللہ نرم نرم چلاتا ہے بادل کو پھر انہیں آپس میں مِلاتا ہے پھر انہیں تہہ پر تہہ کردیتا ہے تو تُو دیکھے کہ اس کے بیچ میں سے مینہ نکلتا ہے اور اتارتا ہے آسمان سے اس میں جو برف کے پہاڑ ہیں ان میں سے کچھ اولے پھر ڈالنا ہے انہیں جس پر چاہے اور پھیردیتا ہے انہیں جس سے چاہے قریب ہے کہ اس کی بجلی کی چمک آنکھ لے جائے

क्या तूने उस पर भी नज़र नहीं की कि यक़ीनन ख़ुदा ही अब्र को चलाता है फिर वही बाहम उसे जोड़ता है-फिर वही उसे तह ब तह रखता है तब तू तो बारिश उसके दरमियान से निकलते हुए देखता है और आसमान में जो (जमे हुए बादलों के) पहाड़ है उनमें से वही उसे बरसाता है- फिर उन्हें जिस (के सर) पर चाहता है पहुँचा देता है- और जिस (के सर) से चाहता है टाल देता है- क़रीब है कि उसकी बिजली की कौन्द आखों की रौशनी उचके लिये जाती है
Wallaahu khalaqa kulla daaabbatim mim maaa'in faminhum mai yamshee 'alaa batnihee wa minhum mai yamshee 'alaa rijlaine wa minhum mai yamshee 'alaaa arba'; yakhluqul laahu maa yashaaa'; innal laaha 'alaa kulli shai'in Qadeer
English
Allah has created every [living] creature from water. And of them are those that move on their bellies, and of them are those that walk on two legs, and of them are those that walk on four. Allah creates what He wills. Indeed, Allah is over all things competent.

اور اللہ نے زمین پر ہر چلنے والا پانی سے بنایا تو ان میں کوئی اپنے پیٹ پر چلتا ہے اور ان میں کوئی دو پاؤں پر چلتا ہے اور ان میں کوئی چار پاؤں پر چلتا ہے اللہ بناتا ہے جو چاہے، بیشک اللہ سب کچھ کرسکتا ہے،

और ख़ुदा ही ने तमाम ज़मीन पर चलने वाले (जानवरों) को पानी से पैदा किया उनमें से बाज़ तो ऐसे हैं जो अपने पेट के बल चलते हैं और बाज़ उनमें से ऐसे हैं जो दो पाँव पर चलते हैं और बाज़ उनमें से ऐसे हैं जो चार पावों पर चलते हैं- ख़ुदा जो चाहता है पैदा करता है इसमें शक नहीं कि खुदा हर चीज़ पर क़ादिर है
Wa yaqooloona aamannaa billaahi wa bir Rasooli wa ata'naa summa yatawallaa fareequm minhum mim ba'di zaalik; wa maaa ulaaa'ika bilmu'mineen
English
But the hypocrites say, "We have believed in Allah and in the Messenger, and we obey"; then a party of them turns away after that. And those are not believers.

اور کہتے ہیں ہم ایمان لائے اللہ اور رسول پر اور حکم مانا پھر کچھ ان میں کے اس کے بعد پھر جاتے ہیں اور وہ مسلمان نہیں

और (जो लोग ऐसे भी है जो) कहते हैं कि ख़ुदा पर और रसूल पर ईमान लाए और हमने इताअत क़ुबूल की- फिर उसके बाद उन में से कुछ लोग (ख़ुदा के हुक्म से) मुँह फेर लेते हैं और (सच यूँ है कि) ये लोग ईमानदार थे ही नहीं
Afee quloobihim ma radun amirtaabooo am yakhaafoona ani yaheefallaahu 'alaihim wa Rasooluh; bal ulaaa'ika humuz zaalimoon
English
Is there disease in their hearts? Or have they doubted? Or do they fear that Allah will be unjust to them, or His Messenger? Rather, it is they who are the wrongdoers.

کیا ان کے دلوں میں بیماری ہے یا شک رکھتے ہیں کیا یہ ڈرتے ہیں کہ اللہ و رسول ان پر ظلم کریں گے بلکہ خود ہی ظالم ہیں،

क्या उन के दिल में (कुफ्र का) मर्ज़ (बाक़ी) है या शक में पड़े हैं या इस बात से डरते हैं कि (मुबादा) ख़ुदा और उसका रसूल उन पर ज़ुल्म कर बैठेगा- (ये सब कुछ नहीं) बल्कि यही लोग ज़ालिम हैं
Innamaa kaana qawlal mu'mineena izaa du'ooo ilal laahi wa Rasoolihee li yahkuma bainahum ai yaqooloo sami'naa wa ata'naa; wa ulaaa'ika humul muflihoon
English
The only statement of the [true] believers when they are called to Allah and His Messenger to judge between them is that they say, "We hear and we obey." And those are the successful.

مسلمانوں کی بات تو یہی ہے جب اللہ اور رسول کی طرف بلائے جائیں کہ رسول ان میں فیصلہ فرمائے کہ عرض کریں ہم نے سنا اور حکم مانا او ریہی لوگ مراد کو پہنچے،

ईमानदारों का क़ौल तो बस ये है कि जब उनको ख़ुदा और उसके रसूल के पास बुलाया जाता है ताकि उनके बाहमी झगड़ों का फैसला करो तो कहते हैं कि हमने (हुक्म) सुना और (दिल से) मान लिया और यही लोग (आख़िरत में) कामयाब होने वाले हैं
Wa aqsamoo billaahi jahda aimaanihim la'in amartahum la yakhrujunna qul laa tuqsimoo taa'atum ma'roofah innal laaha khabeerum bimaa ta'maloon
English
And they swear by Allah their strongest oaths that if you ordered them, they would go forth [in Allah 's cause]. Say, "Do not swear. [Such] obedience is known. Indeed, Allah is Acquainted with that which you do."

اور انہوں نے اللہ کی قسم کھائی اپنے حلف میں حد کی کوشش سے کہ اگر تم انہیں حکم دو گے تو وہ ضرور جہاد کو نکلیں گے تم فرماؤ قسمیں نہ کھاؤ موافق شرع حکم برداری چاہیے، اللہ جانتا ہے جو تم کرتے ہو

और (ऐ रसूल) उन (मुनाफेक़ीन) ने तुम्हारी इताअत की ख़ुदा की सख्त से सख्त क़समें खाई कि अगर तुम उन्हें हुक्म दो तो बिला उज़्र (घर बार छोड़कर) निकल खडे हों- तुम कह दो कि क़समें न खाओ दस्तूर के मुवाफिक़ इताअत (इससे बेहतर) और बेशक तुम जो कुछ करते हो ख़ुदा उससे ख़बरदार है
Qul atee'ul laaha wa atee'ur Rasoola fa in tawallaw fa innamaa 'alaihi maa hummila wa 'alaikum maa hummiltum wa in tutee'oohu tahtadoo; wa maa'alar Rasooli illal balaaghul mubeen
English
Say, "Obey Allah and obey the Messenger; but if you turn away - then upon him is only that [duty] with which he has been charged, and upon you is that with which you have been charged. And if you obey him, you will be [rightly] guided. And there is not upon the Messenger except the [responsibility for] clear notification."

تم فرماؤ حکم مانو اللہ کا اور حکم مانو رسول کا پھر اگر تم منہ پھیرو تو رسول کے ذمہ وہی ہے جس اس پر لازم کیا گیا اور تم پر وہ ہے جس کا بوجھ تم پر رکھا گیا اور اگر رسول کی فرمانبرداری کرو گے راہ پاؤ گے، اور رسول کے ذمہ نہیں مگر صاف پہنچا دینا

(ऐ रसूल) तुम कह दो कि ख़ुदा की इताअत करो और रसूल की इताअत करो इस पर भी अगर तुम सरताबी करोगे तो बस रसूल पर इतना ही (तबलीग़) वाजिब है जिसके वह ज़िम्मेदार किए गए हैं और जिसके ज़िम्मेदार तुम बनाए गए हो तुम पर वाजिब है और अगर तुम उसकी इताअत करोगे तो हिदायत पाओगे और रसूल पर तो सिर्फ साफ तौर पर (एहकाम का) पहुँचाना फर्ज है
Wa'adal laahul lazeena aamanoo minkum wa 'amilus saalihaati la yastakhlifan nahum fil ardi kamastakh lafal lazeena min qablihim wa la yumakkinanna lahum deenahumul lazir tadaa lahum wa la yubaddilannahum mim ba'di khawfihim amnaa; ya'budoonanee laayushrikoona bee shai'aa; wa man kafara ba'da zaalika fa ulaaa'ika humul faasiqoon
English
Allah has promised those who have believed among you and done righteous deeds that He will surely grant them succession [to authority] upon the earth just as He granted it to those before them and that He will surely establish for them [therein] their religion which He has preferred for them and that He will surely substitute for them, after their fear, security, [for] they worship Me, not associating anything with Me. But whoever disbelieves after that - then those are the defiantly disobedient.

اللہ نے وعدہ دیا ان کو جو تم میں سے ایمان لائے اور اچھے کام کیے کہ ضرور انہیں زمین میں خلافت دے گا جیسی ان سے پہلوں کو دی اور ضرور ان کے لیے جمادے گا ان کا وہ دین جو ان کے لیے پسند فرمایا ہے اور ضرور ان کے اگلے خوف کو امن سے بدل دے گا میری عبادت کریں میرا شریک کسی کو نہ ٹھہرائیں، اور جو اس کے بعد ناشکری کرے تو وہی لوگ بے حکم ہیں،

(ऐ ईमानदारों) तुम में से जिन लोगों ने ईमान क़ुबूल किया और अच्छे अच्छे काम किए उन से ख़ुदा ने वायदा किया कि उन को (एक न एक) दिन रुए ज़मीन पर ज़रुर (अपना) नाएब मुक़र्रर करेगा जिस तरह उन लोगों को नाएब बनाया जो उनसे पहले गुज़र चुके हैं और जिस दीन को उसने उनके लिए पसन्द फरमाया है (इस्लाम) उस पर उन्हें ज़रुर ज़रुर पूरी क़ुदरत देगा और उनके ख़ाएफ़ होने के बाद (उनकी हर आस को) अमन से ज़रुर बदल देगा कि वह (इत्मेनान से) मेरी ही इबादत करेंगे और किसी को हमारा शरीक न बनाएँगे और जो शख्स इसके बाद भी नाशुक्री करे तो ऐसे ही लोग बदकार हैं
Laa tahsabannal lazeena kafaroo mu'jizeena fil ard; wa maawaahumun Naaru wa labi'sal maseer
English
Never think that the disbelievers are causing failure [to Allah] upon the earth. Their refuge will be the Fire - and how wretched the destination.

ہرگز کافروں کو خیال نہ کرنا کہ وہ کہیں ہمارے قابو سے نکل جائیں زمین میں اور ان کا ٹھکانا آ گ ہے، اور ضرور کیا ہی برا انجام،

और (ऐ रसूल) तुम ये ख्याल न करो कि कुफ्फार (इधर उधर) ज़मीन मे (फैल कर हमें) आजिज़ कर देगें (ये ख़ुद आजिज़ हो जाएगें) और उनका ठिकाना तो जहन्नुम है और क्या बुरा ठिकाना है
O you who have believed, let those whom your right hands possess and those who have not [yet] reached puberty among you ask permission of you [before entering] at three times: before the dawn prayer and when you put aside your clothing [for rest] at noon and after the night prayer. [These are] three times of privacy for you. There is no blame upon you nor upon them beyond these [periods], for they continually circulate among you - some of you, among others. Thus does Allah make clear to you the verses; and Allah is Knowing and Wise.

اے ایمان والو! چاہیے کہ تم سے اذن لیں تمہارے ہاتھ کے مال غلام اور جو تم میں ابھی جوانی کو نہ پہنچے تین وقت نمازِ صبح سے پہلے اور جب تم اپنے کپڑے اتار رکھتے ہو دوپہر کو اور نماز عشاء کے بعد یہ تین وقت تمہاری شرم کے ہیں ان تین کے بعد کچھ گناہ نہیں تم پر نہ ان پر آمدورفت رکھتے ہیں تمہارے یہاں ایک دوسرے کے پاس اللہ یونہی بیان کرتا ہے تمہارے لیے آیتیں، اور اللہ علم و حکمت والا ہے،

ऐ ईमानदारों तुम्हारी लौन्डी ग़ुलाम और वह लड़के जो अभी तक बुलूग़ की हद तक नहीं पहुँचे हैं उनको भी चाहिए कि (दिन रात में) तीन मरतबा (तुम्हारे पास आने की) तुमसे इजाज़त ले लिया करें तब आएँ (एक) नमाज़ सुबह से पहले और (दूसरे) जब तुम (गर्मी से) दोपहर को (सोने के लिए मामूलन) कपड़े उतार दिया करते हो (तीसरी) नमाजे इशा के बाद (ये) तीन (वक्त) तुम्हारे परदे के हैं इन अवक़ात के अलावा (बे अज़न आने मे) न तुम पर कोई इल्ज़ाम है-न उन पर (क्योंकि) उन अवक़ात के अलावा (ब ज़रुरत या बे ज़रुरत) लोग एक दूसरे के पास चक्कर लगाया करते हैं- यँ ख़ुदा (अपने) एहकाम तुम से साफ साफ बयान करता है और ख़ुदा तो बड़ा वाकिफ़कार हकीम है
And when the children among you reach puberty, let them ask permission [at all times] as those before them have done. Thus does Allah make clear to you His verses; and Allah is Knowing and Wise.

اور جب تم میں لڑکے جوانی کو پہنچ جائیں تو وہ بھی اذن مانگیں جیسے ان کے اگلوں نے اذن مانگا، اللہ یونہی بیان فرماتا ہے تم سے اپنی آیتیں، اور اللہ علم و حکمت والا ہے،

और (ऐ ईमानदारों) जब तुम्हारे लड़के हदे बुलूग को पहुँचें तो जिस तरह उन के कब्ल (बड़ी उम्र) वाले (घर में आने की) इजाज़त ले लिया करते थे उसी तरह ये लोग भी इजाज़त ले लिया करें-यूँ ख़ुदा अपने एहकाम साफ साफ बयान करता है और ख़ुदा तो बड़ा वाकिफकार हकीम है
Walqawaa'idu minan nisaaa'il laatee laa yarjoona nikaahan falisa 'alaihinna junaahun ai yada'na siyaabahunna ghaira mutabar rijaatim bizeenah; wa ai yasta'fifna khairul lahunn; wallaahu Samee'un 'Aleem
English
And women of post-menstrual age who have no desire for marriage - there is no blame upon them for putting aside their outer garments [but] not displaying adornment. But to modestly refrain [from that] is better for them. And Allah is Hearing and Knowing.

اور بوڑھی خانہ نشین عورتیں جنہیں نکاح کی آرزو نہیں ان پر کچھ گناہ نہیں کہ اپنے بالائی کپڑے اتار رکھیں جب کہ سنگھار نہ چمکائیں اور ان سے بھی بچنا ان کے لیے اور بہتر ہے، ور اللہ سنتا جانتا ہے،

और बूढ़ी बूढ़ी औरतें जो (बुढ़ापे की वजह से) निकाह की ख्वाहिश नही रखती वह अगर अपने कपड़े (दुपट्टे वगैराह) उतारकर (सर नंगा) कर डालें तो उसमें उन पर कुछ गुनाह नही है- बशर्ते कि उनको अपना बनाव सिंगार दिखाना मंज़ूर न हो और (इस से भी) बचें तो उनके लिए और बेहतर है और ख़ुदा तो (सबकी सब कुछ) सुनता और जानता है
Laisa 'alal a'maa barajunw wa laa 'alal a'raji barajunw wa laa 'alal mareedi barajun wa laa 'alaa anfusikum an taakuloo mim buyootikum aw buyooti aabaaa'ikum aw buyooti ummahaatikum aw buyooti ikhwaanikum aw buyooti akhawaatikum aw buyooti a'maamikum aw buyooti 'ammaatikum aw buyooti akhwaalikum aw buyooti khaalaatikum aw maa malaktum mafaatihahooo aw sadeeqikum; laisa 'alaikum junaahun an taakuloo jamee'an aw ashtaata; fa izaa dakhaltum buyootan fasallimoo 'alaaa anfusikum tahiyyatam min 'indil laahi mubaarakatan taiyibah; kazaalika yubai yinul laahu lakumul Aayaati la'allakum ta'qiloon
English
There is not upon the blind [any] constraint nor upon the lame constraint nor upon the ill constraint nor upon yourselves when you eat from your [own] houses or the houses of your fathers or the houses of your mothers or the houses of your brothers or the houses of your sisters or the houses of your father's brothers or the houses of your father's sisters or the houses of your mother's brothers or the houses of your mother's sisters or [from houses] whose keys you possess or [from the house] of your friend. There is no blame upon you whether you eat together or separately. But when you enter houses, give greetings of peace upon each other - a greeting from Allah, blessed and good. Thus does Allah make clear to you the verses [of ordinance] that you may understand.

نہ اندھے پر تنگی اور نہ لنگڑے پر مضائقہ اور نہ بیمار پر روک اور نہ تم میں کسی پر کہ کھاؤ اپنی اولاد کے گھر یا اپنے باپ کے گھر یا اپنی ماں کے گھر یا اپنے بھائیوں کے یہاں یا اپنی بہنوں کے گھر ے یا اپنے چچاؤں کے یہاں یا اپنی پھپیوں کے گھر یا اپنے ماموؤں کے یہاں یا اپنی خالاؤں کے گھر یا جہاں کی کنجیاں تمہارے قبضہ میں ہیں یا اپنے دوست کے یہاں تم پر کوئی الزام نہیں کہ مل کر کھاؤ یا الگ الگ پھر جب کسی گھر میں جاؤ تو اپنوں کو سلام کرو ملتے وقت کی اچھی دعا اللہ کے پاس سے مبارک پاکیزہ، اللہ یونہی بیان فرماتا ہے تم سے آیتیں کہ تمہیں سمجھ ہو،

इस बात में न तो अंधे आदमी के लिए मज़ाएक़ा है और न लँगड़ें आदमी पर कुछ इल्ज़ाम है- और न बीमार पर कोई गुनाह है और न ख़ुद तुम लोगो पर कि अपने घरों से खाना खाओ या अपने बाप दादा नाना बग़ैरह के घरों से या अपनी माँ दादी नानी वगैरह के घरों से या अपने भाइयों के घरों से या अपनी बहनों के घरों से या अपने चचाओं के घरों से या अपनी फूफ़ियों के घरों से या अपने मामूओं के घरों से या अपनी खालाओं के घरों से या उस घर से जिसकी कुन्जियाँ तुम्हारे हाथ में है या अपने दोस्तों (के घरों) से इस में भी तुम पर कोई इल्ज़ाम नहीं कि सब के सब मिलकर खाओ या अलग अलग फिर जब तुम घर वालों में जाने लगो (और वहाँ किसी का न पाओ) तो ख़ुद अपने ही ऊपर सलाम कर लिया करो जो ख़ुदा की तरफ से एक मुबारक पाक व पाकीज़ा तोहफा है- ख़ुदा यूँ (अपने) एहकाम तुमसे साफ साफ बयान करता है ताकि तुम समझो
Innamal mu'minoonal lazeena aamanoo billaahi wa Rasoolihee wa izaa kaanoo ma'ahoo 'alaaa amrin jaami'il lam yazhaboo hataa yastaazinooh; innal lazeena yastaa zinookana ulaaa'ikal lazeena yu'minoona billaahi wa Rasoolih; fa izas taazanooka liba'di shaanihim faazal liman shi'ta minhum wastaghfir lahumul laah; innal laaha Gahfoor Raheem
English
The believers are only those who believe in Allah and His Messenger and, when they are [meeting] with him for a matter of common interest, do not depart until they have asked his permission. Indeed, those who ask your permission, [O Muhammad] - those are the ones who believe in Allah and His Messenger. So when they ask your permission for something of their affairs, then give permission to whom you will among them and ask forgiveness for them of Allah. Indeed, Allah is Forgiving and Merciful.

ایمان والے تو وہی ہیں جو اللہ اور اس کے رسول پر یقین لائے اور جب رسول کے پاس کسی ایسے کام میں حاضر ہوئے ہوں جس کے لیے جمع کیے گئے ہوں تو نہ جائیں جب تک ان سے اجازت نہ لے لیں وہ جو تم سے اجازت مانگتے ہیں وہی ہیں جو اللہ اور اس کے رسول پر ایمان لاتے ہیں پھر جب وہ تم سے اجازت مانگیں اپنے کسی کام کے لیے تو ان میں جسے تم چاہو اجازت دے دو اور ان کے لیے اللہ سے معافی مانگو بیشک اللہ بخشنے والا مہربان ہے،

सच्चे ईमानदार तो सिर्फ वह लोग हैं जो ख़ुदा और उसके रसूल पर ईमान लाए और जब किसी ऐसे काम के लिए जिसमें लोंगों के जमा होने की ज़रुरत है- रसूल के पास होते हैं जब तक उससे इजाज़त न ले ली न गए (ऐ रसूल) जो लोग तुम से (हर बात में) इजाज़त ले लेते हैं वे ही लोग (दिल से) ख़ुदा और उसके रसूल पर ईमान लाए हैं तो जब ये लोग अपने किसी काम के लिए तुम से इजाज़त माँगें तो तुम उनमें से जिसको (मुनासिब ख्याल करके) चाहो इजाज़त दे दिया करो और खुदा उसे उसकी बख़्शिस की दुआ भी करो बेशक खुदा बड़ा बख्शने वाला मेहरबान है
La taj'aloo du'aaa'ar Rasooli bainakum kadu'aaa'i badikum ba'daa; qad ya'lamul laahul lazeena yatasallaloona minkum liwaazaa; fal yahzaril lazeena yukhaalifoona 'an amriheee an tuseebahum fitnatun aw yuseebahum 'azaabun aleem
English
Do not make [your] calling of the Messenger among yourselves as the call of one of you to another. Already Allah knows those of you who slip away, concealed by others. So let those beware who dissent from the Prophet's order, lest fitnah strike them or a painful punishment.

رسول کے پکارنے کو آپس میں ایسا نہ ٹھہرالو جیسا تم میں ایک دوسرے کو پکارتا ہے بیشک اللہ جانتا ہے جو تم میں چپکے نکل جاتے ہیں کسی چیز کی آڑ لے کر تو ڈریں وہ جو رسول کے حکم کے خلاف کرتے ہیں کہ انہیں کوئی فتنہ پہنچے یا ان پر دردناک عذاب پڑے

(ऐ ईमानदारों) जिस तरह तुम में से एक दूसरे को (नाम ले कर) बुलाया करते हैं उस तरह आपस में रसूल का बुलाना न समझो ख़ुदा उन लोगों को खूब जानता है जो तुम में से ऑंख बचा के (पैग़म्बर के पास से) खिसक जाते हैं- तो जो लोग उसके हुक्म की मुख़ालफत करते हैं उनको इस बात से डरते रहना चाहिए कि (मुबादा) उन पर कोई मुसीबत आ पडे या उन पर कोई दर्दनाक अज़ाब नाज़िल हो
Alaaa inna lillaahi maa fis samaawaati wal ardi qad ya'lamu maaa antum 'alaihi wa Yawma yurja'oona ilaihi fa yunaabi 'uhum bimaa 'amiloo; wallaahu bikulli shai'in 'Aleem
English
Unquestionably, to Allah belongs whatever is in the heavens and earth. Already He knows that upon which you [stand] and [knows] the Day when they will be returned to Him and He will inform them of what they have done. And Allah is Knowing of all things.

سن لو! بیشک اللہ ہی کا ہے جو کچھ آسمانوں اور زمین میں ہے، بیشک وہ جانتا ہے جس حال پر تم ہو اور اس دن کو جس میں اس کی طرف پھیرے جائیں گے تو وہ انہیں بتادے گا جو کچھ انہوں نے کیا، اور اللہ سب کچھ جانتا ہے،

ख़बरदार जो कुछ सारे आसमान व ज़मीन में है (सब) यक़ीनन ख़ुदा ही का है जिस हालत पर तुम हो ख़ुदा ख़ूब जानता है और जिस दिन उसके पास ये लोग लौटा कर लाएँ जाएँगें तो जो कुछ उन लोगों ने किया कराया है बता देगा और ख़ुदा तो हर चीज़ से खूब वाकिफ है
